Hyatt Regency Certified as a Green Hotel Lodging Property
St. LOUIS, MO, (kansascityfrontpage.com), April 5, 2010 - Skies, a unique restaurant that slowly revolves, gives the diner an amazing view of the downtown Kansas City skyline. The restaurant is located on top of the beautiful Hyatt Regency Crown Center, located at 2345 McGee St.

The Hyatt Regency has been certified as a Green Hotel Lodging Property by the Missouri Hotel & Lodging Association. 100% of the managers in the hotel completed 3 sessions of Environmental Training in 2009.

The staff is currently evaluating all areas of the hotel in attempts to be as energy efficient as possible. Some examples include:

Installing a food pulper in our main kitchen (drastically reduces food waste)
Composting kitchen waster at the hotel and the restaurants in Crown Center
Recycling containers throughout the hotel
Staff has a checklist of 'green' items during the daily safety walk-through
Use totally green chemicals in the third floor dish room
Currently recycle: Paper, Cardboard, Plastic
Working on Aluminum and Glass recycling programs.

Four of the restaurants are also going through a bit update called 'Project Restoration'.

With an overall score of 90.9, Drury Hotels not only outpaced its closest competitor by 4.2 points but scored higher than a number of luxury and upscale brands such as Ritz Carlton (89.6), Four Seasons (86.6), Walt Disney World Resorts (87.5), Marriott (84.0) and Hilton (82.0).

The honor capped off a successful year for Drury Hotels, which also received their fourth consecutive J.D. Power & Associates Award and unveiled their newest free amenity, the 5:30 KickbackSM.
